Tina Lee is an accomplished communications and engagement specialist that has spent her 30 year career advocating for others. Before moving back to BC’s Interior almost a decade ago, Tina lived and worked across 6 continents as a human rights advocate with some of the world’s largest non-profit organizations. Her comprehensive government experience includes roles as a senior policy advisor with provincial and territorial governments and was the City of Penticton’s Communications Officer before her transition to consulting. She now works in a community outreach role for MP, Richard Cannings.

Tina has a deep commitment to the South Okanagan as evidenced by her involvement with multiple non-profit and community boards. Most notably, Tina serves on the Okanagan College Board of Governors as Chair of Campus Planning and was instrumental in securing OC’s newly announced 101 room student residence. She has volunteered her time with boards and committees including for Penticton Safety Village, Community Futures South Okanagan, Dragonfly Pond Family Society, as well as being active with her children’s schools and sports clubs.

Tina has always believed in the power of governments to deliver the transformational change our society needs and has led both the local provincial and federal NDP riding association and is Vice-President of the BC NDP. In her outreach, she has gained a deep understanding of the struggles everyday people are facing in the South Okanagan and has stepped forward to bring a strong voice to Victoria that represents the distinct challenges we face on affordability, economy, environment, and social services.

As a mother of two middle schoolers, Tina understands the challenges families face in our region and is also deeply committed to bold actions on climate change. Her motivations for stepping up to the next level of community advocacy are to ensure families, seniors and those that are vulnerable in our community have access to the services and programs they need to get ahead. She is ready to be a strong voice to represent her region's unique needs at the decision making tables of government
