Biography

from their website

Originally from a small farming community in Ontario, Scott McInnis has proudly called Kimberley home since 2010. In Kimberley, Scott met his wife Diana who has deep roots in the area, and together they have proudly raised their teenage son, Luke.

For the past 15 years, Scott has been a teacher and principal for grades Pre-K to Grade 12 in both the public and independent school systems. His career has made him a passionate advocate for our education system and child care at both the local and provincial levels. Scott believes in giving back to his community, and that’s why he has proudly coached basketball, helping lead his teams to winning the East Kootenay Zone Championships 2 of the past 3 years.

Scott and his family are avid outdoor enthusiasts and stewards of the land. They hunt in the mountains, fly fish the rivers and creeks, and work their family Christmas tree hobby business in the forests surrounding the East Kootenays.

Scott is passionate about community leadership and parliamentary democracy. In 2022, he was selected with a handful of teachers from across the province to participate in the Teacher Institute for Parliamentary Democracy in Victoria which kickstarted his passion for politics.

Scott is also a member of the Elks Lodge #90 in Kimberley and enjoys volunteering for various community events throughout the year.
