Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
I'm running because families deserve a trustee who shows up prepared and listens. As a parent and longtime community builder, I want to bring an informed, collaborative voice to the board, one focused on supporting every student and planning thoughtfully for our growth.

Why I'm Running

I'm running for Port Moody School Trustee because I understand the challenges families navigate every day, from finding the right supports to simply wanting our kids set up to succeed. I've called Port Moody home since 2016, part of more than 23 years spent building community across the Tri-Cities, and I've seen what it takes for a community to show up for its kids, whether that's advocating for a new middle school, supporting local salmon habitat, or serving on council in Anmore. As a parent to a recent SD43 graduate, I know these decisions aren't abstract. They shape whether a child feels supported, whether a family can access the right program, and whether our schools are ready for a world that keeps changing.

Good trusteeship isn't about big promises. It's about showing up prepared, understanding the issues, and never losing sight of the fact that every decision affects real kids and real families. My career in the environmental and learning sectors has taught me that lasting solutions come from careful planning, genuine collaboration, and actually listening to people, not working around them.

I'm running because SD43 deserves a trustee who brings that same care to the board table, one who is informed, committed, and community-driven.
