For nearly two decades, I ran a small business helping Canadians with their tech needs. But I wanted to do more to give back to the community that's given me so much.

In 2018, I was elected Councillor for Qualicum Beach, and we got a lot done. We secured funding for childcare, affordable housing, and revitalized our downtown. Since being elected MLA in 2020, we've kept that momentum — funding 100+ affordable housing units, opening a new medical centre in Qualicum Beach, and securing funding for Nanaimo hospital upgrades and new long-term care spaces. It's proof of what we can achieve together.

Today, we continue to face serious challenges. Thousands of people here are on a growing waitlist for a family doctor, some for more than three years. Rising costs are hitting people hard, especially seniors and young families. Many are also worried about the legacy we're leaving, from protecting our environment to managing provincial finances responsibly.

People are tired of party politics that don't reflect our community. As an independent MLA, I prioritize what's best for us — not a party. Since becoming independent, my team has grown from 2 to 6, and we've secured more funding for our community by working collaboratively. We led the planning for a new health centre in Parksville, collaborated on one in Qualicum Beach, supported non-profits and small businesses, and so much more. Being independent lets me focus on getting things done here, for you.

We're stronger when we work together. Vancouver Island needs a strong voice, and I'm committed to making sure we keep fighting for what matters to us.
