Biography

submitted to District of North Vancouver's elections office by the candidate

I moved to the District in 1988 where my wife and I raised our family.

Beginning my career in the Information Technology business, I worked to implement systems for Automotive Dealerships. After travelling for 10+ years I went to work for one of my favourite clients in Metro 10+ Vancouver, where I filled a variety of roles in middle and senior management.

I have been active in the community with volunteer roles as Vice-Chair of the Seymour Community Association, Vice-President of NVCAN (North Vancouver Community Association Network) and very much enjoyed cooking for the senior’s lunch program at Parkgate Community Centre.

Being fully engaged with the business of the District Council since 2017 – I have attended nearly every workshop and meeting, reading agenda packages, and making recommendations to Council. I have advocated passionately for residents – especially vulnerable rental residents who are being marginalized by the hyper-active development boom that has besieged them.

I have consistently advocated for improvements to our transportation networks and my #1 issue is to start the process for a necessary replacement to the aging Ironworker’s Bridge.

DNV Finances have been a major focus of mine – working to increase transparency and accountability and to counter the influences that seek to constantly raise taxes and rents on residents.

It cannot be said that I am a “one-issue” candidate – I have worked on a wide array of topics, engaging with Staff, Council Members and Stakeholders, always seeking to find solutions that are common-sense, practical, and fair.
