Connie Hill is a dedicated educator, union leader, and social justice advocate who has been working to create fair, inclusive, and sustainable communities. An Indigenous woman and a passionate French teacher for 23 years, Connie believes that education is the foundation for positive change. She has inspired generations of students to embrace language and culture while advocating for a more equitable school system.
Beyond the classroom, Connie has been a strong voice for workers’ rights and systemic change. As an active member of her union executive, she has supported the implementation of better working conditions and policies that support educators and students alike. Her leadership extends to social justice via her work on committees at her union local. She has worked with several committees to address issues such as reconciliation, anti-racism, and equity in education.
As a single mother of three, Connie understands firsthand the challenges that families face-balancing work, childcare, and financial stability. She knows the struggles of everyday people because she has lived them. That’s why she is committed to fighting for policies that support working parents, affordable childcare, and access to quality education.
Connie is also a passionate advocate for the environment. She believes in protecting the land, air, and water for future generations and supports strong climate policies that prioritize sustainability, clean energy, and conservation.
