Biography
Trade Unionist | Community Activist | Working People First
Wai Kiat Tang, a dedicated trade unionist and longtime advocate for working people, is the Communist Party - Ontario candidate for Scarborough-Rouge Park in the upcoming provincial election.
A carpenter by trade and currently an aviation worker, Wai Kiat has been actively involved in Canada’s progressive, peace, and labour movements for over 20 years. He resides in cooperative housing in Scarborough and is committed to fighting for policies that prioritize the needs of working families.
Wai Kiat and the Communist Party will ensure a $25/hour minimum wage, affordable public and cooperative housing to tackle the housing crisis, and expanded public services like the Sheppard East Subway extension to Morningside. Strongly opposing corporate greed and cuts to education and healthcare and aiming to build a coalition for progressive change in Scarborough.
A passionate advocate for his community, Wai Kiat believes the establishment parties have failed Scarborough. He is determined to fight for full employment, youth opportunities, and respect for working people.
This election, Wai Kiat asks: What have big business politicians done for you? If you’re ready for real change, vote Communist to put working people first.
