Biography
Alex Hilson is a dedicated local leader, serving as Town Councillor for Ward 1 in Halton Hills. He has championed safe streets, a healthier environment, strong community services, and the public library as an essential resource for learning and connection.
Before being elected, Alex supported small businesses as the Acton BIA Coordinator, helping them navigate the challenges of the pandemic by securing funding, promoting local shopping, and building a stronger downtown. He also worked as a Programmer for Youth with the Town, seeing firsthand the importance of social services for vulnerable community members.
A committed volunteer—Past President of the Halton Hills Optimist Club, a church leader, and Secretary of the Halton Hills Interfaith Community—Alex knows that building a strong community takes hard work and collaboration.
Now, he’s running because Wellington-Halton Hills has a real opportunity for change. He believes leadership means putting people before politics and working together to improve healthcare, housing, and economic opportunities for all.
