Biography
Isabelle currently serves as Deputy Leader and critic for Tourism, Heritage and Culture and Women’s Equality.
Nothing is ever left to chance in Isabelle’s life. She has long made her choice to live in the Acadian Peninsula. Originally from Shippagan, she lived there all her youth. Her parents, also from the region (her mother from Inkerman Ferry, and her father from Anse-Bleue), taught her the importance of getting involved in her community and to give back as much as she receives. She decided fifteen years ago to settle in Caraquet, an area that “inspires her and allows her to achieve her ambitions”.
Although she is known as a musician, it is above all her entrepreneurial skills and her strong sense of organization that give her the exceptional qualities that have served her so well in her young career.
After three years of studying music at the Université de Moncton, Isabelle soon made a name for herself in the entertainment world as one of the few female musical directors in Atlantic Canada. She leads numerous projects on the national and international scene
Her talent also takes her to act as emcee, coach, columnist, editor, planner, judge and more! Note her impressive participation, first with “Les Muses” and later in the musical revue Ode à l’Acadie, with whom she performed more than 1000 shows. Isabelle has toured Canada, the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia and is a proud ambassador for the Acadian region.
While music seems to take up much of her time, it is important to know that alongside her musical career, Isabelle has demonstrated herself as an ambitious and gifted entrepreneur. For eight years, she has directed the Académie Isabelle Thériault, a music school that has become renowned for allowing many artists from the Acadian Peninsula to achieve excellence. Isabelle is also founder and co-owner of the bistro La Brôkerie, an establishment that is well recognized in the New Brunswick tourism industry.
Among the many recognition awards she has received in the arts (3 Éloizes, 2 MNB, 1 ECMA, 1 JUNO nomination), the Acadian Peninsula’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award, which she received in 2013, makes her the most proud.
Already impressive, you will say; however, above all this work, Isabelle makes time to get involved in her community. She is president of Centre-Ville Caraquet, vice-president of the Cultural Commission of Caraquet, she conducts the Falabella Choir in the Peninsula, and participates in the activities of many organizations in the region.
In 2016, she accepted to become head of the Festival Acadien and succeeded, with a renewed team, to revitalize the event. The obvious success of the 2017 edition of the Festival confirms her talent for leading a team and moving things forward.
With a strong personality and a particular ease in expressing herself in public, Isabelle knows how to listen as well as she can speak. An extraordinary dynamic leadership ability that is only beginning to impress us!

Rien n’est jamais laissé au hasard dans la vie d’Isabelle. Elle a depuis longtemps fait son choix, c’est dans la Péninsule acadienne qu’elle veut vivre. Elle dirigera pendant huit ans l’Académie Isabelle Thériault, cette école de musique qui deviendra réputée en menant de nombreux artistes de la Péninsule acadienne à atteindre l’excellence. Isabelle deviendra également fondatrice et co-propriétaire du bistro La Brôkerie, établissement qui a déjà fait son nom dans l’industrie touristique du Nouveau-Brunswick.
En deçà des nombreux prix de reconnaissance qu’elle a reçus dans le domaine des arts (3 prix Éloizes, 2 MNB, 1 ECMA, 1 JUNO nomination) c’est le titre de Femme entrepreneure de l’Année de la Péninsule Acadienne, qu’elle a obtenue en 2013, qui lui fait le plus plaisir.
Déjà impressionnant direz-vous, même si tout le travail d’Isabelle ne l’empêche pas de s’impliquer dans sa communauté. Elle sera présidente de Centre-Ville Caraquet, vice-présidente de la Commission culturelle de Caraquet, elle dirigera une chorale péninsulaire, la Chorale Falabella, en plus de participer aux activités de nombreuses organisations de la région.
En 2016 elle accepte de diriger le Festival Acadien et réussit avec une équipe renouvelée à lui inculquer un souffle nouveau. Le succès évident de l’édition 2017 du Festival confirme son talent pour diriger une équipe et pour faire avancer les choses.
Dotée d’une forte personnalité, d’une aisance particulière à s’exprimer en public, Isabelle sait écouter autant qu’elle peut transmettre. Un leadership hors du commun dont le dynamisme ne fait que commencer à nous impressionner!
