Julia fled Chile’s military dictatorship with her family as a young child. She has always valued Canada’s democratic values. She has lived in all three Prairie provinces and resided in Greater Victoria for the last four years. She has raised three children.
Julia has had a variety of life and work experiences in the private and public sector, including a career in the travel and tourism industry as a travel agent and airport representative, managing a small business in the shipping industry as the owner/operator of a 5-ton truck. Currently she works at Canada Post and has served as a union representative.
Julia’s priorities for City Council include promoting true sustainable living through projects that support food security, addressing homelessness by creating innovative affordable housing supply and advocating for mass public transportation infrastructure like a commuter train to remove congestion from our roads.
