To rebuild trust in city governance, I will advocate for:
• Governance rooted in authentic public participation in policy and decision-making
• Sensible policies to increase housing to meet the needs of our diverse population
• Council meeting its core responsibilities of safety and protection
• City streets, parks, and neighbourhoods that enhance livability
• Focus on practices which support community response to climate change
• Five Pillars approach for those unable to care for themselves: prevention, harm reduction, treatment/recovery, enforcement, housing
“Victoria would be so much cleaner and inviting, so much safer and prosperous, if the well-being and interests of those who live here become Council's priorities.”
My Advocacy
Public Interest: As long-time president of a neighbourhood association, I forwarded community input from land use meetings. I promoted community values at City Meetings.
Climate Objectives: I’ve advocated for clean air as the local lead on successful air quality projects. In promoting recycling and reduction of wastes – both local and at CRD – I am focused on minimizing impacts to our shared environment.
Public Spaces: Promoting accessible sidewalks & streets, public safety, and creating and upgrading parks.“I’ll stand up for local voices and bring common sense and a commitment to make Victoria a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.”
