I was born and raised in Deep Cove and my 3 children are 5th generation. I am an environmental candidate, wanting to preserve the livability and quality of life in the District of North Vancouver. I’m the longest serving Councillor in DNV, with 26 years of experience. I sit on the Board of Metro Vancouver, including Parks, Planning, Performance and Audit, Chairing the Culture Committee. My experience on DNV committees is vast, including North Van Recreation and Culture, North Shore Emergency Management, Advisory Oversight, to name a few. The region is facing unprecedented employee vacancies, including supply chain and inflation costs, growth is not creating more affordable housing, in fact displacement of residents and businesses is continuing, and the challenges of climate change continue. We need to understand the impacts that change has brought, and pivot accordingly. Improved public transportation is critical to the movement of the North Shore, and our health care system is at a critical juncture needing government intervention before more density is considered. We must lift those most vulnerable up amidst gentrification and prioritize their needs.
