Jordan was first elected to DNV Council in 2018. A lifelong resident of the District of North Vancouver, he lives in the Lynn Valley area with his wife Signy and their two young children. Outside of Council, he has a successful career in advertising, working with a wide variety of businesses and organizations on their marketing campaigns.
Throughout his term on Council, Back has been a supporter of the Official Community Plan and has advocated for the diversity of housing and transportation improvements that are necessary to allow new residents to call the community home, become less reliant on private automobiles, and also bring the vision of vibrant town centres to life. Some of Back’s own motions that he has brought forward during the current Council term include the safe consumption of alcohol in parks, a food trucks pilot program, updated snow removal practices, as well as a motion to involve more youth and younger adults in local government decision making.
Should he be re-elected, Back will be focused on ensuring we continue to be an inclusive community that works for young families and the fast growing demographic of those over the age of 65 who will have different housing needs and require more services in order to stay living in the community. Ensuring that we are a municipality that supports small businesses is also a priority for Back, as is decision making through the lens of a changing climate and the need to reduce carbon emissions.
