Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
I have lived in Prince George since 1992. A life-long, dedicated volunteer, I create cohesion with a strong committment to my community. With 8 years experience, I am able to face the opportunities and challenges facing those at the Council table.

Born in Alberta, I grew up in BC and came to Prince George in 1992 to open the Bookstore at UNBC. My husband, Charles, and I have three grown sons, two daughters-in-law and two grandchildren.

I bring a number of skills to City Council.

·      As an active volunteer, I am experienced in creating cohesion on boards whose members have a variety of perspectives and relational styles.

·      My service on the Salvation Army’s Community Council has informed me about the needs of our less advantaged citizens, as well as ways to meaningfully impact their lives.

·      My service on the Prince George Council of Seniors and the board of Riverbend (seniors housing), as well as through my church (Grace Anglican) has created a strong understanding of the challenges facing seniors in our community.

·      As a sitting Councillor with 8 years experience, I am very familiar with the opportunities and challenges facing those at the Council table.

Reason for running

When I started this journey, I said that Prince George was at the brink of more. Two terms in, we have accomplished many goals and achieved much that we can be proud of. I believe that there is more to come; and that I and prepared to help that happen.
