I'm a public high school teacher that has taught Social Studies and student leadership for over a decade. I've supported teachers as a union rep in a variety of roles, striving to enact social justice initiatives in our district. I'm the husband of another teacher and a father.
A little bit about me: I’m a public high school teacher here in SD42 and have taught out here for the past 7 years. I’m a husband to another absolutely amazing teacher here in Maple Ridge and a father to a beautiful 1-year old boy. I was born just outside of Toronto (please don’t hold that against me), and after spending the first 7 years of my teaching career plying my trade in international schools in China, Egypt and Russia, I moved to Pitt Meadows with my family in 2020, and later to Maple Ridge in 2023.
As a teacher, I’ve seen first-hand the consequences of the NDP’s lack of support for average BC’ers and the BC Liberals’ (that’s the BC Cons now, in case you missed that) severe underfunding of education. Talking with students, colleagues, parents, and community members has shown me that we’re desperate for bold plans and a genuine vision for an affordable, equitable BC. There’s only one candidate in this riding and one party in this election that is offering that, and they’re myself and the BC Greens respectively.
