Rajwinder Singh Sandhu is a parent, basketball coach, REALTOR®, community volunteer, and experienced Board Director running for Abbotsford School Trustee.

Education and community involvement have been important parts of Rajwinder’s journey. He graduated from the public school system in 2006 and, for the past three years, has served as a Board Director at an independent school. Through that role and his experience serving on different boards, he has gained practical experience in governance, budgeting, policy development, accountability, and stewardship.

Sports have also played a major role in Rajwinder’s life. As a former athlete and current basketball coach, he spends significant time working with young people. Coaching has given him an opportunity to listen to students, understand some of the challenges they face, and see firsthand the importance of providing young people with opportunities, facilities, resources, and positive environments in which to grow.

Rajwinder has worked as a REALTOR® since 2009, working closely with families and communities. He has also dedicated significant time to community volunteering and youth initiatives.

His campaign focuses on four areas: strong education, safer schools, parents having a strong voice, and accountability and responsible stewardship.

Rajwinder believes strong literacy and numeracy foundations are important to student success, while education should also provide opportunities through practical learning, skilled trades, technology, and career preparation. He supports safe and respectful school environments, communication between schools and families, and responsible stewardship of public resources.

His campaign theme is “Safer Schools. Stronger Community.”
