My approach to every issue starts the same way: talk to residents first, then decide. Saanich works best when the people affected by a decision actually get to weigh in on it before it's made, not after.
That philosophy runs through all five of my priorities. Protecting green space and tree canopy means listening to the neighbourhoods that live alongside them. A balanced transportation strategy means hearing from cyclists, transit riders, seniors, and drivers alike, not just the loudest voice in the room. Responsible spending means being honest with residents about what the municipality can and cannot afford, and asking before committing to major new costs.
I'll deliver on these promises by pushing for real public engagement processes, not just information sessions after decisions are already made, by requiring clear justification for major spending before it's approved, and by working collaboratively with the rest of council rather than defaulting to conflict.
At the core of it all is a simple belief: good government is government that trusts its residents enough to ask them first.

Biography
Nancy has spent more than three decades in Saanich real estate, working closely with families across the district as they've bought, sold, and put down roots. That hands-on experience - seeing how zoning decisions, development approvals, and municipal spending actually play out for real people - is what first pulled her into local advocacy.
In 2021, Nancy helped lead a grassroots Alternative Approval Process campaign that successfully stopped the District of Saanich from borrowing $150 million without direct voter approval. That campaign became the starting point for Save Our Saanich, the slate of independent candidates she went on to co-found.
She currently serves as a Director-at-Large with the North Quadra Community Association, staying closely connected to the concerns of her own neighbourhood while running for Council.
Nancy is running because she believes Saanich residents deserve a council that listens first - and that good decisions come from real public input, not decisions made behind closed doors.

Reason for running
As a 30+ year resident and real estate professional in Saanich, I've spent years working directly with families navigating our community's growth — and I've seen firsthand where local government listens well, and where it doesn't.
In 2021, I co-founded Save Our Saanich after helping lead a successful Alternative Approval Process campaign that stopped the municipality from borrowing $150 million without direct voter approval. That experience taught me that residents deserve a real voice in decisions that shape our neighbourhoods, our budgets, and our green spaces.
On Council, I'll prioritize:
- Protecting Saanich's tree canopy, green spaces, and wildlife corridors
- A transportation strategy that works for cyclists, transit users, and drivers alike
- Transparent, engaged decision-making that actually reflects public input
- Gradual, respectful development that fits our neighbourhoods
- Responsible spending that puts core services first
I'm also a Director-at-Large with the North Quadra Community Association, where I continue to work directly with residents on the issues that matter most to them.
