Growing up in community housing in Halton, Adam was surrounded by strong, dedicated local community leaders who inspired him to dedicate his life to Canada and his community. Whether he was studying at McMaster University, representing Canada at the Olympic Games, working as a spokesperson in the charitable sector, or in his current role as the Member of Parliament for Milton, Adam always listens, engages, and learns from those around him, particularly from his community in Milton.

Born to immigrant parents, Adam learned about sacrifice, the value of teamwork, and the importance of individuals in making a difference for people in their community.

After joining the Burloak Canoe Club as a teenager, Adam discovered a love for sport. His athletic career – which culminated in four Olympic medals for Canada – taught him determination, hard work, and collaboration. The values he learned and the skills he developed as an athlete brought him to volunteer for organizations like Right To Play, WaterAID, Special Olympics, Parkinson’s Canada, and the David Suzuki Foundation.

Adam served as the Chair of the Canadian Olympic Athletes’ Commission for almost a decade, and was a member of the federal government’s working group for Gender Inclusion and Gender Based Violence in Sport.

Professionally, Adam worked in broadcasting, advertising and marketing, philanthropy and as a consultant with Deloitte before entering politics. He’s driven by a commitment to the collective good, inspired by leaders who put aside their own personal interests to support and build up their communities.

As a Member of Parliament, Adam’s top priorities have been finding solutions for affordable housing, ensuring that youth have a voice at the table, fighting for a clean and healthy environment, and fostering an active lifestyle for all Canadians with investments that make peoples’ lives better.
Adam has been honoured that his neighbours in Milton have chosen him to be their Member of Parliament, and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure their voices are heard loud and clear in Ottawa.
