BC Conservative promise
"We will cut provincial income taxes by $1,000 a year for nearly every working British Columbian and $2,000 for the average couple, providing much-needed relief to families struggling with the rising cost of living.
A Conservative government will raise BC’s basic personal exemption from $13,216 to $32,000, making it the most generous in Canada. For a typical two-income family, that means $167 more every month to help cover the rising cost of gas, groceries, and everyday essentials."

"British Columbia has the resources, workers and strategic location to become a global energy leader. The BC Conservatives’ Energy Superpower Plan will get our province building again, doubling natural gas production by 2032 and tripling it by 2035, creating good-paying jobs, attracting billions in investment and generating new revenue for the services British Columbians rely on." — conservativebc.ca, retrieved 2026-10-13
"We’ll cut unnecessary red tape, speed up project approvals, build the power and infrastructure needed for growth, bring investment and corporate headquarters back to B.C., and put First Nations partnership and ownership at the centre of new development." — conservativebc.ca, retrieved 2026-10-13
"Work with industry to assess barriers to investment from the CleanBC plan and end unnecessary regulatory burdens that have created complexity and driven away investment." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"End emissions limits that are currently stopping further investment in BC beyond LNG Canada and driving projects to hostile countries and countries with worse environmental and social records." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"Replace the costly and confusing carbon tax framework, which is holding back new LNG development, with stable guidance that rewards operators without penalizing BC exports against US and Qatari competitors." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"Harmonize project permitting, approvals and consultation to align with Bill C-39 to ensure BC led projects are approved within the new federal one year time frame. This will be directly supported by a 120 Day Approval Process in legislation." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"Make B.C. natural gas the most competitive to produce, with legal permit deadlines and long-term development plans built in partnership with Treaty 8 nations." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"Establish resource development corridors that enable linear infrastructure including new and existing pipeline expansions required to grow the sector, reducing impacts and improving coordination with Indigenous groups before projects begin." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"• Work with industry, First Nations and BC universities and colleges to develop a clear plan for building up the labour market for new projects.
• Bring an LNG focus on skills-to-employment strategy with a particular focus on future good-paying jobs in natural gas, LNG, and NGL operations for BC grads."
— BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"• The LNG sector has less of a presence in BC today than it did a decade ago. We will encourage the proponents of BC LNG and BC oil and gas to come back home to BC, to domicile here and increase their physical presence in the province where they operate.
• We will do this in a framework that has upside for the proponents through direct engagement: domiciling in BC has to be good for project proponents while increasing investment and benefits for BC."
— BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"• We will reach out to proponents that left BC's LNG sector under a hostile or ambivalent BC NDP government.
• This includes ExxonMobil (exited in 2018), Chevron (exited in 2019 and no buyer found in 2021 so they wound down investment in BC), Petronas (cancelled Pacific NorthWest LNG a week after the NDP took office), and Woodside (exited 2021).
• Given the current global context, as soon as BC's investment doors are open under a new BC Conservative government, we will engage with former and new proponents for investment in natural gas and LNG in BC."
— BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"We will urgently engage with First Nations, mayors, councils and proponents to ensure that the hospitals, schools and services in operating regions for natural gas and LNG are meeting top tier standards that can retain and attract BC talent with particular focus on support for Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Terrace and Dawson Creek and Fort St John as well as other cities and towns supporting the sector." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"We will reach out to foreign investors looking at Alaska. BC has advantages that should be attractive enough to bring their capital to BC and Canada." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13
"We will work with First Nations, investors and offtakers to expedite this project to a final go-ahead for construction." — BC Energy Superpower Plan, retrieved 2026-10-13

“I’ll say this about SOGI. I think that it has become an absolute lightning rod for division in our province, and it has become a challenge. And I think that many people are confused about what SOGI has become in our school.
I firmly believe that we have to repeal SOGI. Obviously we have to provide a safe place for our kids. Just like I said in Bridgeview yesterday, I went as a child to the Bridgeview Elementary School and felt safe.
We need to continue that tradition. But I do believe that SOGI has to be repealed.”

"[DRIPA] has not created the security for British Columbians that it was meant to achieve. We are in court everywhere in this province. So the reality is it (DRIPA) has to be repealed…The challenges we have faced with First Nations and working together have been, no question, a very serious challenge. DRIPA hasn’t helped that, sadly.
We need a genuine path forward. And trust me when I say this, I am committed to working with First Nations. I am committed to building these projects together with First Nations, for the benefit of all of us. And I want partnerships with First Nations.
We need to make everyone equally successful here. And equally, both in a number of different ways – financially, socially, in all respects – we have to work together with our First Nations. And trust me when I say this, I am very committed to that."

Biography
I’m Macklin McCall, your BC Conservative candidate for West Kelowna–Peachland. I’ve spent my life in the Okanagan, grew up on a family farm in Okanagan Falls and have called West Kelowna home for more than 15 years.
Before entering politics, I served for 19 years with the RCMP. My work included frontline policing, emergency response and working alongside a mental health nurse to help people in crisis. That experience taught me the importance of listening, showing up when people need help and following through.
During my time as MLA, I advocated for safer communities, better wildfire prevention and response, improvements to Highway 97 and Westside Road, and better access to health care close to home. I also served as the Official Opposition critic for public safety and emergency management, holding government accountable on issues that directly affect our communities.
I’m running to build on that work and help make life more affordable. Our communities need reliable infrastructure, support for local businesses and a government that takes public safety seriously.
I love this community and want to see it thrive. I’ll keep listening, speaking up for West Kelowna–Peachland and working to get results for the people who call it home.
Reason for running
I’m running because I care about this community and want people to be able to build a good life here. They should feel safe in their neighbourhoods, afford their bills, get health care when they need it and count on the roads they use every day.
During my 19 years with the RCMP, I saw how much people depend on public services when things go wrong. During my time as MLA, I pushed for action on public safety, wildfire prevention, local roads and access to health care. I want to keep that work moving forward.
West Kelowna–Peachland is my home. I share the frustrations people bring to me, and I’m running to help solve them. I want to bring my experience to a BC Conservative government that listens, follows through and puts British Columbians first.
