After-School Programs
I want more clubs in elementary schools since they mostly only have sports going on, and I want to have after school homework club.
Clubs can be led by kids in high school who are passionate or by teachers and others. Homework club can be after school and will give kids more resources to well education.
Artificial Intelligence in Schools
Ai should not be used in schools for cheating or to complete assignments.
Ai is not helpful when it is doing the work, however in cases where it’s being used to teach and as a resource to learn it is tolerable.
Bullying & Bigotry
I will make sure bullying is taken seriously in all schools and do my best to prevent it.
I’ll do this by communicating to parents, and having more supervisors and more info nights about bullying.
Childcare
I want after school childcare to be available for enough time so parents can have easier schedules as well.
This can happen at the same time as homework club or it can be combined.
Indigenous Schooling
Everyone should learn about Indigenous culture, language, people, and history.
Indigenous children will continue to have learning of their history and any extra learning they would like about their history and culture.
Media Literacy & Critical Thinking
Children must learn things for what they are, not to rely on ai, and how to do things in places outside of school environments.
Mental Health in Schools
I want to spread awareness about mental health and make children feel safer.
I will do this by having info nights where parents can be informed about this as well, flyers will be put up, and children will know about the people they can go to.
Neurodivergent Students & Support
I want more EAs and teachers so extra support can be given to everyone and more help offered for children to seek.
Smaller classrooms and more educators will make learning easier for everybody.
Police in Schools
I want kids to be safe, therefore police will be welcome to handle anything and to ensure everyone’s safety.
Student Involvement & Engagement
I want to make sure there are extracurriculars and activities during and after school hours to make children want to learn and enjoy it.
Traffic Safety Around Schools
I’ll ensure that there are supervisors and staff watching crosswalks where students are and want to have more roundabouts for parent drop off.
