Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
Burnaby Resident for 21 years looking to help make life easier in trying times.

Hello, my name is Konstantine and I'm running as an independent for city council in the upcoming municipal election. I've been living in Burnaby for 21 years and am hoping to keep living here. I graduated from SFU and UBC and have worked in the community since then.

In my spare time I like taking my dog for walks and hikes with my wife. I also enjoy fighting games even though the current crop is sub-par. I am an avid reader and enjoy the classics.

I'm passionate about good governance and ensuring the next generation gets a fair say in things. I feel like we've all been neglected for too long and it's time we shape our futures instead of living in the crumbling remains of the post-war order.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
I'm running because I'm concerned that the levers of power are getting further and further away from the youth. People feel apathetic and feel no reason to get involved in municipal politics. I want to give the youth a voice. I want to make it easier for them to get their start.

Life is tough. We've been through multiple 'once in a lifetime' events and some of you aren't even 30 yet. The situation is dire and a general malaise hangs over everyone. I'm only running for councillor but we need to start somewhere. If you think your living situation keeps getting worse I implore you to make a change and vote for me. I can't promise you the world but I do promise that I won't do more of the same which has led to the degradation of living standards for 2 going on 3 generations.

I want to make it easier for you all to get your start in life, I want to stop developers from running roughshod over the city and I want to ensure that your standard of living actually INCREASES which is a marked departure from the current status quo which tries to convince us that managed decline is simply the way it has to be.

I can't promise you the world, but I do promise that I will listen to you all and I will answer every email and inquiry.

As for those outside of that age bracket, I value your input and experience, I think leveraging your concerns will go a long way in ensuring the future integrity of this city. I welcome your feedback as well. I will work for nobody but you all. I won't be bought and I will always use logic to underscore my decision making.
