Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
Daniel Anderson (H.BA, M.A., M.T.) is a secondary school teacher, school trustee, and spokesperson for the North Shore Neighborhoods Alliance (NSNA).

Daniel Anderson is the vice chair of the North Vancouver School Board, leading its audit committee and focusing on strengthening core learning initiatives. Dan is equally committed to accountability beyond education. As spokesperson for the North Shore Neighborhoods Alliance (NSNA) — a coalition of seven community associations — he has worked to expose the soaring costs of the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant and has called for both provincial relief and an independent public inquiry under Section 764 and Section 765 of the Local Government Act. Dan is turning his attention to municipal politics because he believes our community is at a crossroads. The systems that support us all are under strain, housing is slipping further out of reach for young people, and too many local decisions are being shaped by Metro Vancouver and distant powers in Victoria. For the past four years, Dan has fought for his community: now he’s ready to bring that fight, and his experience, to council.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
I’m running because the District of North Vancouver needs stronger local leadership that puts residents first, responsible management of taxpayer dollars, and thoughtful planning that protects the character of our community.

Daily gridlock has become normalized—but it shouldn’t be. We need better east-west connections that bypass bridge traffic, along with transit solutions that don’t get trapped in the same congestion. We must also push back against the unfair costs imposed on North Shore households by the bungled Wastewater Treatment Plant and demand meaningful reform at Metro Vancouver. Growth must be strategic and matched with infrastructure—not shoehorned into neighbourhoods that lack the roads, transit, sewage capacity and services to support it. Above all, we need responsible financial management so we can afford the infrastructure our community actually needs, from recreation centres and sewage upgrades to better transportation routes.
