Mary Blanca Villa y Battenberg is a community leader and nonprofit professional who has called Burnaby home for 13 years. A mother of three, she has dedicated her career to supporting vulnerable women, children, and families and understands the challenges of housing affordability, financial insecurity, and community safety.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Educational Sciences from ITESO and a Certificate in Community Capacity Building from SFU. A licensed financial professional, Mary brings experience in financial services, education, and helping families make informed decisions.
Mary served on an immigrant and refugee advisory council with the Burnaby Intercultural Planning Table and currently serves on the Community Engagement Committee at Burnaby Village Museum. She has organized more than 200 community events, reaching over 7,000 neighbours, and contributed to the Edmonds Community Resource Guide.
Mary is running with Burnaby First to bring people together, strengthen collaboration, and turn community ideas into action.
