Incumbent Councillor Jessie Dosanjh is a high-performance track and field coach, former Delta School Trustee and long-time community leader seeking re-election with Achieving for Delta.
He is focused on safe neighbourhoods, strong parks and recreation, quality community infrastructure and protecting the quality of life residents value across Delta. Jessie has proudly called Delta home for more than 40 years and brings over a decade of experience in local governance. He was first elected as a Delta School Trustee in 2018 and later elected to Delta City Council in 2022.
As a Councillor, Jessie has been a strong advocate for investments in parks, recreation programs and sports field infrastructure. During his term, he has helped advance a major period of parks and recreation upgrades across Delta and supported the introduction of the YAK Pass, which provides free recreation access for children and youth under 18 and seniors 75 and older.
Jessie’s commitment to recreation and youth is also deeply personal. For more than 25 years, he has worked as a high-performance track and field coach, mentoring young athletes and coaching competitors at the national, international and Olympic levels. He continues to volunteer his time coaching youth and elite athletes in the community.
His leadership and community service have earned provincial recognition, including induction into the BC Athletics Hall of Fame and receiving the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Jessie is also deeply rooted in Delta’s diverse communities and has spent decades building relationships through sport, public service and community involvement. He believes strong communities are built by creating opportunities for people of all ages to participate, connect and thrive.
