Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
As mayor, Doug McCallum built 46 capital projects for Surrey, including SkyTrain to Clayton Heights, Fleetwood, and Cloverdale, all while keeping taxes low. Now he's running to get Surrey building again.

Surrey deserves a mayor who gets things done. As mayor, Doug McCallum delivered 46 capital projects across Surrey, including SkyTrain to Clayton Heights, Fleetwood, and Cloverdale, Bear Creek Stadium, and the 84th Avenue Connector, all while keeping taxes low and standing up the Surrey Police Service from nothing. Now he's running on the Safe Surrey Coalition ticket to build Surrey General Hospital, a second full-service hospital for the city, freeze property taxes at zero percent for four years, extend SkyTrain down King George Boulevard to Newton, add new pools for Clayton Heights, Cloverdale, and City Centre, and permanently protect local farmland for Surrey families.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
I'm running because Surrey needs a mayor who builds. I delivered 46 capital projects, SkyTrain to Clayton Heights, and growth in Fleetwood and Cloverdale, all with taxes kept low. Let's finish the job.

I oversaw a wave of growth for Surrey and delivered 46 capital projects, from SkyTrain to Clayton Heights to new investment in Fleetwood and Cloverdale, all while keeping taxes low and standing up the Surrey Police Service from nothing. I'm running again because Surrey still needs a second hospital, SkyTrain down King George Boulevard to Newton, new pools for Clayton Heights, Cloverdale, and City Centre, and permanent protection for our local farmland. I know how to get things done for Surrey families, and I'm ready to keep building.
