Biography
Rimmy Riarh is a dedicated advocate for social and economic justice and the Communist candidate for Parkdale-High Park, where he currently resides.
Raised in Surrey, B.C., Rimmy moved to Toronto in 2016 and has since become an active voice for working-class communities in the city. He is currently completing his PhD at York University, where his research focuses on Canadian politics.
Rimmy decided to run in this election because he believes, like millions of Ontarians, that the status quo no longer works for ordinary people. The current system is not “broken” – it is functioning exactly as it was designed: to benefit big business and their political allies at the expense of the working class. Rimmy and the Communist Party of Canada – Ontario are committed to building a real People’s Alternative to monopoly capitalism, one that prioritizes the needs of working families, students, seniors, and marginalized communities.
While establishment parties and politicians offer little more than empty promises, Rimmy is running to challenge the idea that there is “no other choice.” The Communist Party believes in a better future for Ontario – one where housing, healthcare, education, and workers’ rights are prioritized over corporate profits.
This election, Rimmy is asking voters to send a message: reject the status quo and vote for a People’s Alternative. Together, we can build a province that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
