Biography

Over this past year I’ve worked as a data scientist for the provincial government in the Department of Health and Wellness, providing analysis to help inform policy and decision-making. I’ve now started a PhD in statistics where my thesis will be on how air pollution and extreme temperatures due to climate change are affecting the respiratory health of Nova Scotians.

I’ve always been engaged in politics because I know our choices now will determine the future of our environment and that we have the means to create a better society that works for everyone. So, I’m running for the Green Party because I strongly resonate with the Green Party’s core values and because we need bold solutions to our affordability, health, and environmental crises.

I obtained my master’s degree in statistics at Dalhousie University and have now returned for a PhD, with the goal to pursue a career in health statistics. In my free time this year I’ve started volunteering for the Loaded Ladle — a student organization that cooks and provides free lunches to students — and skating with the university’s student figure skating club.
