Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
I grew up in Campbell River and returned to raise my family and practice law for the last 27 years. Mom of 1 amazing daughter. I also have an MBA and actively volunteer, including 11 years with the City And 20 years with CR Head Injury. I am a team player.

I am a long time resident of Campbell River, having moved here in 1968. I am a lawyer, who has practiced here since 1994. I also have an MBA and experience in banking as well as big business as a financial analyst.

After 13 years away from Campbell River for school and work I moved back and worked with my father, a lawyer, and started my family. I’m the mother of one daughter.

My volunteer activities span the arts (the Museum at Campbell River), social services and affordable housing provider (Campbell River Head Injury Support Society), charitable works (Campbell River Community Foundation) and business/government (CRTV -before it was sold to Shaw and the City of Campbell River Airport Authority and then a commission for the City)

I am a team player and as a solicitor have excellent relationships with other lawyers because we want our clients to make deals and to be effective, not argumentative.

I am able to run or be part of a board meeting that encourages forward thinking, goals oriented debate and inclusivity. I have an open mind and am a natural problem solver with innovative ways of looking at issues. I welcome diverse views and can change my mind.

I am a strong advocate for governance that sets clear goals, monitors performance and sets reasonable limitations.

I believe we should encourage people to try a new idea even if they may make a few mistakes along the way and local government needs to be effective - where those who use our services see it as well run and responsive.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
I am running to improve our City that has challenges. I want a sustainable community where our children want to live in and can afford to live in. A City that is safe, inclusive and we are proud of. A City that delivers services while keeping taxes under control.
