I was born and raised in Montreal; however, the Greater Vancouver Area has been my home for the past 25 years; it is the place in which I raised my two children. I am proud to say that they have both attended BC public schools their entire lives; my eldest being a recent graduate of Port Moody Secondary.
I believe that public schools are the cornerstone of our community and that today's education must focus on the student and their future. Without public schools, children would not be provided with opportunities to learn about themselves and develop a sense of community. I am committed to seeing a time in which all students will have access to the very best education they deserve, regardless ethnicity, gender or beliefs.
I hold a BA in Economics from Concordia University and have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to be exposed to various roles ranging sales, administration and management. I have directed both small and medium sized business and am an experienced negotiator in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
I have held the position of Chair of the Parent Advisory Committee at the elementary level, was a youth sports coach, and am concerned parent. I have experience dealing with trustees who are clearly not vested to represent the students and their parents. With your vote, I want to alter that.
