Kathleen Carlsen lives in Massey Victory Heights with her husband, son, cat and dog. She is a former Champion Highland dancer, a youth sports supporter and a proud parent. Passionate about children, safety, dance and physical and mental health, she wants to empower youth, knowing they are the future of our city.
"Miss Kathleen" has worked in various capacities across Metro Vancouver with children, youth and families for 30 years as a dance instructor, recreation leader, and in the parks with New Westminster Parks and Recreation.
Carlsen gained invaluable insight and much respect through four years of navigating the role of DPAC Chair with compassion, patience, empathy and integrity. She has served on the MVHRA board, was Team Manager with the NWSC and formed a not-forprofit society to promote the art form of Highland dance, encouraging students to perform locally at the Hyack Parade, Century House and Buchanan Lodge
