First elected in in 2010, Marianne Alto was returned to Victoria City Council in 2011, 2014 and 2018. Marianne is a facilitator by trade, a small businesswoman and community activist. She currently sits on 9 Council and CRD committees, and has served as Council liaison to 7 neighbourhoods.
Proud of progress made on infrastructure, active transportation, housing supply from policies prioritizing rentals and affordability, climate action, Reconciliation, all-ages recreation and pandemic recovery, Marianne knows Council can do more to make Victoria a vibrant, welcoming city for everyone. She has the experience to make tough, balanced decisions with solutions to help Victorians thrive in the present and future.
“Victoria is evolving, a big town becoming a city – it’s going to take courage to decide what that looks like.
I know Victorians have that courage.” Marianne is proud mom to Benjamin and Pasha, and was married in 2003.
