Biography

from their website

June Patterson is a grocery clerk, activist, and proud Maritimer born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She has been intimately involved in the student movement, the labour movement, and the struggle for LGBTQIA+ rights for nearly a decade, and has been an organiser with the Communist Party and the Young Communist League in Fredericton since 2019.

As a renter and low-wage worker, June doesn’t just see the challenges facing the working people of Fredericton-Oromocto, she experiences them first-hand every day. From skyrocketing rents and food prices, to low wages and subpar social services, New Brunswick is becoming a more difficult place to live every year. Like most Atlantic Canadians, June has friends and family who have been forced to seek work out west for lack of opportunities at home.

Fredericton-Oromocto deserves a representative who will fight for the people who live here: the renters, the working poor, the impoverished retirees and struggling students–not the lawbreaking landlords, business owners and oligarch Irvings. June Patterson seeks to be that representative. The bosses have their MPs, it’s time the workers had one too.

In the face of American bullying and brinkmanship, a looming far-right threat to our freedoms and liberties, and a world war on the horizon, we need voices to fight for our sovereignty, stand up for peace, and defend our rights and way of life. On April 28th vote for peace and prosperity, not war and austerity! Vote for June Patterson in Fredericton-Oromocto!
