Edward has been vegan and a supporter of animal rights for the past decade. He hopes to help people recognize and consider the massive impact a few small choices changes can have on their environment.
Edward became vegetarian in his late teens but evolved into veganism after learning the fur trim on some coats was, shockingly, still actual animal fur. That realization informed his understanding of speciesism’s devastating impact on all living creatures. It was this understanding, along with Ontario’s ‘Ag-Gag’ law (Bill C-156) and the death of Regan Russell during a slaughterhouse vigil in 2020, that called Edward to action and led to him becoming more involved in activism and advocacy.
As a newcomer to the political arena – short of being a persistent pesterer of municipal, provincial and federal officials when it comes to issues close to his heart – Edward hopes to raise awareness surrounding the importance of compassionate politics.
