Wasai Rahimi is deeply involved in the Kitchener, Ontario community, serving as President of the Afghan Association of Waterloo Region and Executive Director at iHelp International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving community needs. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for the Panjshir Association of Canada and actively participates in Campas Kitchener.

His community involvement includes eight years on the board of directors of Bridges to Belonging, where he focused on fostering inclusion and helping individuals affected by autism. For ten years, he contributed to the Safe and Healthy Advisory Committee of the City of Kitchener, promoting well-being and safety for residents.

In civic engagement, Wasai Rahimi has pursued political roles to effect positive change, running as a candidate for Ward 2 of the Kitchener City Council in 2014 and as a parliamentary candidate in 2019.
