Biography
Pat Boyd is following in his great grandfather’s footsteps in making Nova Scotia home. His ancestors settled in Nova Scotia from Scotland with each subsequent generation moving further West to Saskatchewan, Alberta, and then British Columbia. Pat grew up in Vancouver and upon graduation embarked on a career that took him to Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. While getting to work and live across the world, Pat always felt a calling to return home—to that hopeful and prosperous Canada of the early 2000s. That call came during the covid era when Pat made the decision to uproot from Southeast Asia and return home having spent 15 years abroad. After reconnecting with family, Pat got in his pickup truck and drove across the country from Vancouver to the South Shore, settling in and quickly being taken with the charms of the South Shore—St. Margarets community. And in settling down in the Maritimes, he began to see aspects of everyday life here become increasingly unrecognizable with a clear acceleration over the past two years;
Pat is running for office because he loves the Maritimes and wants to help fix these things—speaking plainly about the problems we face and putting forward plain solutions. Pat has worked as an international executive leading global projects in banking and engineering & manufacturing from Singapore, China, and Poland. Pat currently runs a consulting firm and is also a volunteer firefighter and medical first responder. He holds a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago along with a Master of Science in Communications from the London School of Economics. He completed his undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University.
