Housing and Transportation go hand in hand now. Increased supply of housing can also result in increased traffic, but if done appropriately, it can help people live where they work and therefore require less travel. We should:
-Continue to work with other levels of government to leverage funding for road network improvements (Integrated North Shore Transportation Planning Project)
-Encourage use of transit within the district, and work with Translink to fully implement the North Shore Area Transit Plan (ie. more frequent buses, simpler routes)
-Improve the network of bicycle routes within the district without impinging vehicle traffic
-continue to promote density in areas where it makes sense (close to transit routes and services)
-Preserve our residential single family detached housing communities
-Ensure we are promoting the most effective mix of housing; we need more 2 and 3 bedroom affordable units
-Examine new tools such as the new rental only zoning
