Oliver Wildfong

My candidacy for Surrey City Centre is built on a simple premise: elected representatives should be visible, accessible, and accountable to the people they represent—not just during election season, but every single day.

Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
Oliver Wildfong is the OneBC candidate for Surrey City Centre. He is a security tradesman, a small business owner and a new dad. Surrey has been his home since 2005, and he is not a career politician.

His family has been in Canada for nearly 400 years. In 1644 his ancestor Martin Prévost married Marie Olivier, an Algonquin woman, in Quebec City. On his father's side, the Wildfongs came from Bohemia in the 1750s, through North Carolina and Pennsylvania, and settled in Waterloo County, Ontario around 1820. Faith, family and hard work still guide him.

His fiancée is Filipina, and their baby was born this summer. He wants working families to keep more of what they earn, streets that feel safe, and parents and property owners put first. He is trained in CPTED, and he is here to listen.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
Working families in Surrey are falling behind while government keeps spending more, and nobody in Victoria is telling them the truth. I'm a tradesman, not a politician.

I'll be transparent, document my whole journey so you can hold me accountable, and answer straight. It's time for real change, not the status quo and not more reckless spending.
