Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
Freddy Rawji is your CentreBC candidate for Port Moody- Burquitlam.

Freddy Rawji was born and raised in Port Moody and graduated from Port Moody Secondary School as the 2010 valedictorian. After earning a BSc in Economics from the University of Victoria, he built a career in recruitment focused on the engineering and construction management sectors.

In 2018, Freddy joined RAM Consulting and helped the company scale from 15 to 100 people as it delivered one of Metro Vancouver’s largest industrial projects, supplying aviation fuel to YVR. He also launched RAM’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure design service.

In December 2020, Freddy founded Torus Talent, a recruitment and leadership consulting firm that specializes in technical talent. In under six years, his team has helped over 400 British Columbians land jobs.

Freddy is passionate about making BC a better place to do business. His own path has convinced him that small businesses are best placed to innovate and create high-paying jobs, and that a stronger economy is what pays for the social services British Columbians rely on.

He is running with CentreBC because he believes the other parties are rowing in opposite directions, while most British Columbians are in the middle. Freddy believes in progress, but in progress that is thought through and guided by science and data, not political ideology.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
Freddy's Top 3 areas:
1. Fixing the healthcare system that failed his family.
2. Making BC a better place to start a business and a family.
3. Addressing the rampant crime and mental health crisis.

My mother was an ultrasound tech at Eagle Ridge Hospital for over 20 years. Growing up, I always believed our medical system was designed to help people when they needed it the most. That same system failed my mother when she had a stroke, who is now in long-term care.

It also failed our family when my grandmother was sent home two months ago from emergency without a CT scan. If they scanned her the first time we took her to the hospital, they could have caught her cancer recurrence and she could have been a candidate for chemotherapy. Instead, she's currently at Crossroads Hospice, where I'm spending my downtime during the campaign.

We deserve better without compromising on our morals. The conservatives are happy to cosy up to people who want to take our freedoms away. We need a voice for the missing middle British Columbian, and I believe myself and CentreBC is the option.
