Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
I’ve proudly called Port Coquitlam home since the early '90s. I attended all levels of schools here, and today, my wife and I are raising our kids in those same classrooms. I’m running to ensure our kids & generations have the opportunity to live, work, & play right here at home.

Aman Brah is a long time resident, a dedicated community leader, and a professional who understands how to build a better Port Coquitlam. Having lived in Port Coquitlam since the early 1990s, Aman attended local elementary, middle, and high schools before establishing his career and raising his own family right here in PoCo.

Aman’s vision for Port Coquitlam is simple: ensure that current and future generations have the opportunity to live, work, and play in the community they call home. He believes that while growth is inevitable, it must be managed locally, not dictated by the province. With nearly two decades of experience as a local real estate professional (licensed since 2005), Aman brings deep, practical expertise in navigating zoning, land-use, and community development. He is a strong advocate for "gentle density" that preserves neighborhood character and a champion for attracting businesses to keep the local economy thriving and taxes low.

Beyond his professional work, Aman’s heart is in community sports and civic engagement. He has volunteered countless hours coaching local youth, organizing tournaments, and serving as the Minor Director for BC Ball Hockey and on the board of local youth sports associations. Aman understands firsthand the critical need for accessible, high-quality community facilities for families.

As part of his commitment to the city, Aman joined Mayor Brad West’s Citizen Advisory Roundtable (MCAR) in 2023, where he actively contributes to shaping the city’s strategic vision, budget priorities, and community initiatives.

Aman is running for City Council to ensure Port Coquitlam remains the hidden gem we all love—a place where families can put down roots, businesses can succeed, and the community comes first.
