Biography
I've called Port Coquitlam home for more than two decades. It's where I built my career, raised my family and developed a deep appreciation for the people, neighbourhoods and community organizations that make Port Coquitlam a special place to live.
I bring a background in real estate, community relations and coaching, with a career centred on building relationships, listening to people and helping individuals and families navigate important decisions and transitions. My work with seniors and their families has given me a particular appreciation for the importance of accessibility, connection, dignity and ensuring that older residents continue to feel valued and included in the community.
My decision to run for City Council comes from a desire to bring more voices into local government and to help Port Coquitlam plan thoughtfully for the future. I believe growth should be accompanied by the infrastructure, services and amenities needed to support existing and future residents, while respecting the character of established neighbourhoods.
As an independent candidate, I am focused on practical local issues that affect residents every day, including responsible growth and development, community safety, support for seniors, accessibility, infrastructure, parks and community spaces, and a strong local economy. I believe residents deserve to be heard and that decisions made at City Hall should reflect both the needs of today's community and the long-term interests of future generations.
My solution based approach is one of listening first, bringing people together, working collaboratively and looking ahead. I want to help build a Port Coquitlam where seniors can remain connected, families can thrive, local businesses can succeed, neighbourhoods are thoughtfully planned, and residents have meaningful opportunities to participate in the future of their city.
Reason for running
I’m running for Port Coquitlam City Council because this community has been my home for 24 years. I’ve raised my family here, built my career here, advocated for seniors and their families, and spent years working alongside local residents and businesses. I care deeply about the people who make Port Coquitlam the community it is today—and I want to help ensure it remains a great place to live for generations to come.
I believe Port Coquitlam is at an important point in its future. We are growing, and with that growth comes an opportunity to plan thoughtfully and make sure the infrastructure, services, neighbourhoods and amenities we rely on keep pace. My focus is on protecting what makes Port Coquitlam special while preparing responsibly for the future.
I’m particularly passionate about ensuring that seniors remain active, valued and supported in our community. My professional work with seniors and their families has shown me how important connection, accessibility, dignity and community support are. I also want to ensure that residents who face mobility or accessibility barriers, families working hard to get ahead, and people who may not always feel heard have a meaningful voice in local government.
I’m also running because I believe local government should be accessible and responsive. I want to listen to residents, bring people together, and work collaboratively on practical solutions. Whether it is community safety, responsible growth, infrastructure, supporting local businesses or preserving the character of our neighbourhoods, I believe good decisions begin with listening to the people who live here.
Finally, I want to help build a stronger culture of civic participation in Port Coquitlam. I believe our community is at its best when people understand that their voice matters and choose to participate in shaping its future.
My campaign is grounded in a simple idea: A Port Coquitlam that plans ahead. I’m running to be a thoughtful, practical and community-minded voice for our seniors, our families, our neighbourhoods, our local businesses and our future.
