A bit more about me: I was born in Comox, raised in East Vancouver, and have called Campbell River home for 11 years and counting.

My parents spent a few influential summers as outdoor guides at Strathcona Lodge in the 70's and worked in forestry in the area before moving to Vancouver in the 80's. As a kid I came to Campbell River most summers to camp at Elk Falls and rent boats at the little shops along what is now the sea walk to fish for coho and chinook. I never would have guessed back then that this would be the place I would put down roots and raise my family.

I met my wife through Island friends and the Vancouver music scene 17 years ago. After a few years in Ottawa where I worked for a federal arts funding agency, we knew we wanted to start our family back on the Island. She got hired as a music teacher for SD72, I started working in our MP's constituency office and we rented a townhouse in Willow Point. Our two kids are now in elementary and high school, and we were fortunate to have been able to buy a house 10 years ago. Like many Campbell River families we would struggle to afford anything at today's market rates.

Music, arts & culture have always been an important part of our lives. I play drums, mostly for musical theatre lately and occasionally for the Campbell River Children's Choir in which my family is very involved. I served on the board of the Campbell River Art Gallery and then the Tidemark Theatre Society, and in 2019 started the Highway 19 Concert Society to bring more live music to our community. After the pandemic I left the MP office to take a contract with the City running the music and events in Spirit Square. I continue to work in the music business as an artist manager, booking agent and concert promoter. You may hear me on radio Tuesday mornings talking about upcoming shows and events in town. I also currently administer the soccer district for all the youth clubs from Campbell River to Ladysmith. I volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and on the board of the CR Masters Soccer Club where I've played with the over-30 team for 10 years and am graduating this year to the over-45s.

I've worked in the private and public sector. I've worked with the City, and with different levels of government. I've served on and led boards, and have experience bringing diverse voices together towards common goals. I love this place, and the community I've become part of and am always working to build.
