A community thrives when its land is protected and its people are heard. My vision is a Township that keeps farmland as farmland, plans growth instead of rushing it, looks after its seniors, and makes every decision in the open with the record on the table.
Langley Strong's plan has one goal: restoring respect in the Township of Langley. Respect for your tax dollars. Respect for your neighbourhood. Respect for all generations and all voices, even the ones with a different opinion. Respect for democracy and accountability. That means fixing the books first (a forensic audit, then a public payback plan for B.C.'s biggest municipal debt), holding tax increases to the lowest level the books allow, building only what we can pay for with the price tag public before the vote, treating every community as an equal partner, and governing in the open: real consultation before major decisions, real answers at the Council table, and real accountability to the people we serve. Biography
I'm an eighth-term Township of Langley Councillor, a Salmon River Uplands resident, a longtime educator and advocate for seniors, health care, and animal welfare, and a mom of three.
I've called Langley Township home for nearly four decades. My husband Bob and I raised our children here. I've taught business management at Kwantlen Polytechnic University for more than thirty years, and I've had the honour of serving you at the council table for twenty-seven years. My commitment in all that time hasn't changed: debate the issues and not the personalities, listen to every point of view before deciding, and make sure your voice is heard at the table.
Twenty-seven years at the council table. You've elected me to Council eight times since 1999, longer than anyone in Township history. That means I know how the decisions in front of us were made, what residents were promised, and what it costs you when the record gets ignored.
An educator and health administrator. I've taught business management at Kwantlen Polytechnic University since 1993, and I hold a Master's in Health Administration. I've chaired the South Fraser regional health board and Langley's community health council, and served as a trustee at Langley Memorial Hospital.
A record on farmland and community. I co-chaired the Township's Agricultural Advisory Committee and its Seniors Advisory Committee, and I served four years as the Township's Metro Vancouver regional director. I helped found the North Otter Performing Arts Association and still volunteer at LAPS.
Reason for running
I'm running again for Council with Langley Strong because families here are being squeezed by rising costs and taxes, growth has too often been rushed instead of properly planned, and too many decisions have been made without the transparency residents deserve.
I'll keep working to protect our farmland and green spaces, to plan growth thoughtfully, and to hold Council to the highest standard of ethics and accountability.
I've spent decades standing up for Township residents because a community thrives when its land is protected and its people are heard.
