My vision People- security- future People is about think of the city as a whole, not just the people with social issues. We have other groups that need our help such as the missing middle, seniors and youth. Security is about making living in Kamloops safer. I feel that our focus needs to change from only the homeless to a more security based approach from our CSO dept. Future is about not only planning but actually getting things done. We need to change how we zone properties to allow for affordable housing. I support not only creating higher density, but actual changing zoning in nebourhoods that are close to services and enough infrastructure to zoning that allows 4,6 or 8 plex units based on lot sizes. We need to get more commercial land serviced so business can grow and locate here. The well paying jobs that commercial business provide helps with housing affordability. New recreational facilities need to think about dual purposes related to climate change (warming centers, cooling centers and evacuation events). We need to move forward with the master recreation plan by providing business plans and funding sources. I feel that a one referendum for all facilities, is not the best approach.
