Karen Long, originally born in Surrey, B.C., has been a vital part of the Langley community since 1980. As a devoted mother of a daughter and son, and a joyful grandmother to two young grandsons, Karen’s roots run deep in the Langley-Abbotsford region.

With a solid foundation in accounting, Karen’s professional journey led her to establish a successful office supply store in Aldergrove during the mid-90s. Her business quickly evolved into a local hub, fostering connections with various organizations and associations. Passionately committed to community service, Karen has held key roles on numerous boards and committees. Her leadership extends to being a past president of the BC Farm Museum, Aldergrove Rotary, and the Aldergrove Fair. Moreover, she is the esteemed founder of the Langley Volunteer Bureau.

Currently, Karen spearheads the Food Recovery program at Langley Meals on Wheels Society, exemplifying her dedication to addressing crucial issues in the community. Her exemplary volunteerism has been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medallion, The Township of Langley Eric Flowerdew Volunteer Award, and the Hilda Reddick Aldergrove Community Volunteer Award.

Karen’s core belief centers around supporting, serving, and connecting with her community and delivering real results on the critical issues that matter most to everyday British Columbians.
