In this election, I want to bring us back to accountable evidence for positions on government decisions and policies. We can all have discussions on the overarching philosophies of the NDP and BC Liberal Party, but the guiding principle is the same: Is it the best decision for South Delta?
The current political environment of false accusations and alternative facts has made it difficult to determine the truth of the claims of government. When I sat in Question Period on March 14th, Provincial Ministers repeatedly refused to release documents to support their decisions. They provide no facts or figures, but the government asks us to trust them while both major parties perpetuate a system of big money donations. If a position or policy is good, there should be evidence to confirm that it is the best available decision.
In this election I promise you this: if it is good for South Delta, I will support it; if it is not, I will oppose it.
I am an independent candidate because I do not believe that any of our provincial parties have the best interest of our community at heart. In fact, there were only two occasions in the past 4 years where a party politician voted against the party line. Delta South is a unique riding that deserves a strong voice capable of speaking for the best interest of its residents.
